1. Feng Shui rule: Bring light into the house
According to Feng Shui, light is a strong force and strengthens our chi. Where it is absent the flow of chi can wither Curtains and blinds should therefore be as translucent as possible and not completely darken. Where there is no real daylight, artificial light sources are of course also allowed. Then, however, to match the room – bright light in the kitchen and study, soft light in the living room and bedroom.
2. Feng Shui rule: Open doors and passages
While we are already at the flow of the life energy Chi: All blockages should be removed so that it can flow through the entire apartment. In other words: Open doors and widen passageways so that furniture that blocks the way is best completely hidden. In addition to the chi, your guests will also thank them, who no longer bump their knees on awkwardly placed stools or sideboards. And yes: toilet, apartment door and bathroom are of course excluded from the openness rule.
3. Feng Shui rule: No dead things
An old bouquet not only looks ugly, such dead plants are the antagonists of the life energy Chi. So out with it! This also applies to other lifeless things – from stuffed animals to framed butterflies as wall decorations. Away, away, away.
4. Feng Shui rule: plants are good
Splendid plants are a welcome guest at home – they strengthen the chi. Room corners or side areas that are otherwise hardly taken into account benefit from them. However, it is important that they are regularly groomed and healthy. Otherwise rule 3 applies again.
5. Feng Shui rule: separate areas of life
In addition to an external order, you should also pay attention to a content order such as separate areas of life. A home office right next to the bed is not exactly the best help to sleep through the night. Especially when you can still see the day’s work from your bed. You should therefore assign a very clear area to your work at home, which you also design accordingly.
6. Feng Shui rule: tidying up is important
It sounds banal at first. But one of the most important rules in Feng Shui is a tidy home. Even more – it’s best to clear out things and get rid of things that you no longer need. You will see that this will certainly increase your well-being. Or to speak in terms of Feng Shui: The life energy Chi will flow again. And that’s what Chinese teaching is all about.
7. Feng Shui rule: the right direction
Not only is the home itself important, your position in the room is also crucial. What you may instinctively know from going to a restaurant also applies when you stay at home for a longer period of time: It feels most comfortable when you have a solid wall in your back. If you still look at the door, the feeling of security and security is perfect.
8. Feng Shui rule: decorating
Don’t worry – decorating is allowed, positive and also desired in the sense of Feng Shui. But: The decoration should definitely match the room and its intended purpose. Pictures with bright colors do not belong in the bedroom and water-sensitive paper flowers are not suitable for the bathroom. Rely on a few, but carefully selected accessories. That also keeps the apartment tidy (see tip 1).
9. Feng Shui rule: Round and curved shapes
It is not for nothing that the Chi flows: This comparison of water also applies to linear forms in living – here the life energy accelerates like water on a slide and shoots into the room. Not good. Organic and curved shapes are better, the life energy flows along them harmoniously. Example: Instead of a rectangular coffee table, an oval or kidney-shaped coffee table is much better.
10. Feng Shui rule: The thing with the mirrors
It is almost common knowledge when it comes to Feng Shui that mirrors across from entrance doors are not good. They reflect the chi, visitors would feel immediately thrown out again. We should also do without reflective surfaces in the bedroom – they would only reflect the energy used and disturb sleep. But mirrors can also be good for and even strengthen your chi. A mirror in the dining room, where you like to eat with family and guests, should always have positive effects.
